- Heating up an eyelash curler and clamping them down on my poor babies
- Using multiple layers of different types of disappointing mascara
- Using a Korean eyelash perming kit I bought online from a Pinterest post (which only succeeded in giving my lashes a slight curl for an hour or two (yay?) but ended up giving me clumpy, gluey lashes that I had to cover with eye make up remover for 30 minutes)
My lashes just looked like fat, stumpy, and sad curls after being put through these somewhat torturous methods of curling, thickening, and lengthening. Then one day, in Shopper's Drug Mart, I came across an eyelash serum from Indeed Labs (this one here) and it made my lashes grow longer and new lashes actually grew in. It was good and did everything it promised. I still wanted my lashes to be longer, though, so I purchased a second tube after I finished the first to hold me until I found a new substitute. That's when I discovered RapidLash XL.
I came across a review on YouTube of a girl who said her friend's mother, who had lost her hair through chemo, used this and her eyelashes grew back. I've seen RapidLash at Costco and Shopper's before, but I was still skeptical. I needed more proof so I went to Google. Eventually, after reading tons of reviews and watching about 10 videos, I bought it and I've never been happier with my lashes (seriously).
My lashes started growing longer and thicker after about 3 or 4 weeks, and after about 2 months, new lashes started to grow in places that were bare before. I had new lashes growing slightly above my upper lash lines and slightly below my lower lash lines, as well as the innermost corners and outermost corners. I was really, really happy with the results so I bought a second tube after my first one finished. I'm still on my second tube because these tubes last forever and my lashes look long and wispy (for an Asian, anyway) and they look absolutely amazing when I apply Urban Decay Canonball mascara or use a combo of Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base and Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara. My lashes are now long enough to touch my eyebrows when they're curled and have mascara on. They also poke at the lenses of my glasses which is slightly uncomfortable, but that's okay, because that means my lashes are LONG! If lashes had beauty competitions like dogs did (Corgis will always be first in my heart) mine would finally be able to compete with those of my friends and my boyfriend.

As for application, I use RapidLash once a day before I go to bed and after I shower, and for me, this method yields great results.
